Early Stage One Module - Lunch Time

arrow Special Places - a Research Module covering Early Stage One - Stage Three
This Research Module aims to develop an understanding of why certain sites are significant to people from different cultural or religious backgrounds, with a special reference to the Australian Aboriginal people.

These modules aim to provide an easy access to Internet research for students and teachers. They are designed so that students are encouraged to not merely gather information but to select, analyse, organise and use information to provide creative answers or solutions to set questions or situations. Find out more about On-line Research - read Jamie McKenzie's article "Making the Net Work for Schools: On Line Research Modules" and explore the Module Makersite. Jamie McKenzie's pioneering work in this field has provided the inspiration driving this site.

The modules were originally developed through a CAP Initiative in the Batemans Bay District in 1999 but the development of modules is ongoing and now involves a large number of teachers across New South Wales. To date more than 200 teachers have worked on creating these modules. CAP schools are invited to contact their district CAP Consultant or email Stacey Kelly, if they would like to be involved in developing future Research Modules.

Each module is designed to fit into the NSW Curriculum and are listed in the index in stages as a guide only.
Where modules cross over stages they have been listed in both. The years given are an approximation of comparative traditional class year development.
