Medieval Life in Britain 1066-1400

The Dark Ages have ended. William the Conqueror has invaded and you are living in new and different times. It is the age of knights and castles, of plagues and witches, of sudden and painful death and the beginning of modern law and order. You are invited to share the experiences of people of these times. You are going to investigate the life of each of the following characters: peasant farmer a knight monk or nun lord or lady of the manor merchant artisan

You must research the life and times of your characters so that you can complete these tasks:

 

• Rank your characters in order of their contribution to medieval life in Britain.
• Write an imaginative account of a day in the life of one of your characters.
• Give an oral presentation, accompanied by a slide show, on one of the following:

  The Crusades

  The Black Death

  Witches and Superstition

  Law and Order
