URGENT! - MONTY PLEASE HELP.
You are Monty - the Today program's weather presenter, working on location somewhere in Australia when you receive an urgent phone call from the studio telling you of a natural disaster heading your way. They are desparate to put out a disaster warning and need you to prepare it. Just then your mobile phone starts breaking up and you don't hear what type of disaster it is.
You can't contact the studio and you don't have time to prepare for all types of disasters so you must choose the three most likely to occur in the location you are working.

STEPS
1. Choose a location and select three disasters.

You should use the summary sheet to help organise your information. (Tip: Make sure you select landscape printing in your Page Set-up)
2. Choose the
disaster most likely to strike the location you are at and
prepare an urgent, 30 second TV warning informing people of the
impending disaster and how to ready themselves to minimise the
damage.
Go to it, time
is short! The safety of people and property are in your
hands.
3. You also have
to prepare a report on what causes this disaster, where it usually
occurs and the likely damage. Use your summary sheet information to
help you.
The disaster has struck. You have survived but received a nasty facial injury and can't appear on TV for some time. To earn extra money you:-
4. Write a report for a major newspaper describing the disaster and relief operations. For this section you must choose an actual disasterous event which has occured somewhere in the world, eg. Newcastle Earthquake, Ash Wednesday bushfires, Cyclone Tracy. Make sure you describe what, where, when, what happened, who was affected and who helped. Include some photos from the disaster. Use the news article sheet to present your article.
