Introduction
Sydney is seen as the gateway to Australia. Images such as the Opera House and Harbour Bridge draw tourists from around the world. Through this unit of work you will have the opportunity to investigate some of the people, events, cultural influences and images of Sydney which will help you to develop your own understanding of what makes Australia and Australians unique and special.
Task
You have just started your new and exciting business "Skip Tours". You are presently looking for new clients and have invested a considerable amount of time and money into a web page that has put you into the World Wide Travel market.
As you check your emails on the first morning of business you notice a letter from Japan has been sent to you.....

Although you are very excited about your new business you realise you will have to investigate the costs and tour information.
|
|
Luckily you have just developed a blank Skip Tours Summary Sheet to assist you in developing an exciting and educational tour of Sydney.
Step 1
Open and save or print out the SUMMARY SHEET .
Step 2
Working with a friend
complete the summary sheet and on completion choose your 5 best
tourist destinations.
Here are more than twenty official Sydney sites to investigate - Good
Luck!
To convert your prices from Australian dollars to Japanese yen you will need to use a currency converter. You can find one at Oanda.
Step 3
Present your chosen FIVE Sydney tourist destimations as a BROCHURE using the details collected on the Summary Sheet.
It should include:
- all summary sheet details for each of "Top 5" sites chosen
- brief descriptive outline of each destination
- pictures or photographs
- a map of Sydney showing where they are located
- prices in Japanese yen
- it should also be clear, colourful and relevant.
Remember you are in competition with other companies so presentation is EVERYTHING!
Evaluation
This work will be evaluated by assessing:
- the final brochure and the relevance and accuracy of its information
- the attractiveness and "eye-catchiness" of the brochure
- the information gathered on the Summary Sheet and the reasons for your final choices.
GOOD LUCK!
