Pigs are one of the smartest animals on farms.

Pigs are used mainly for food. They give us: pork, ham, bacon and sausages. Their skin is made into leather and the hard bristles on their back can be used for brushes.

Lots of pigs can live in a small space. This is because they do not need to find their own food as farmers feed them. Pigs use their noses to look for food like tree roots and corn.

Pigs can weigh up to 360 kilograms. Pigs keep themselves cool by rolling in the mud so they like to be in a place where it rains and gets muddy.
